Step 1: You have to Fill-Up account closure form:
Visit your PNB branch and ask account closure form at the help desk. Fill the form carefully with the details like account holder name, account number, mobile number, customer id, mode of balance to be received (whether you want to receive the balance amount in cash, cheque, Demand draft or fund transfer to any other PNB account or other bank account) and don’t forget to put your signature at the end of the form. Remember it should be the same signature which you have been using in your PNB cheque book.
Step2: Collect all documents and facilities received by bank (Passbook, Cheque Book and Debit Card):
Most of us have received passbook, cheque book and debit ATM card at the time of opening the PNB account. If so then you must submit it at the time of placing your request to close your PNB account. If you are availing any other facility from PNB which is linked to your PNB account then you have to close that before applying for closing PNB account.
Step 3: Submit the above two along with your KYC (ID and Address proof):
Once you have completed filling up account closure form and collected all documents and facilities received by bank (Debit Card, Passbook and Cheque Book), you have to visit your bank branch again along with the above documents and your KYC i.e., your valid ID proof and Address proof. This is just to confirm that you are the authentic person to close the account.
